The much-anticipated Celebrate Africa Concert, which was slated to bee held at the OVO Wembley Arena in London, UK, has been postponed to next year due to unforeseen circumstances.
The Concert, which was to be headlined by Africa’s finest artists among them Winnie Nwagi from Uganda, Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania, Sarkodie and Lojay from Nigeria, plus Vegedream from Ivory Coast, will be held at another date yet to be communicated by the organisers.

Meanwhile, in a bid to cater for revellers in the UK who are planning how to spend their festive season, we have learnt that the organisers are working upon staging an East African Music Festival, which will feature performances by two artistes from each of the East African countries.
“We are looking at organising another event in November, at which two top artists from all the East African countries will perform,” one of the event organisers who preferred anonymity told this website.
He added that; “The date for this music festival will be announced later but partiers should expect only the best artists to perform; which means we shall have two artists from Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda and Burundi.”
A statement from the organisers of the Celebrate Africa Concert about postponing the event reads in part thus;
“It is with deep regret to announce the cancellation of Celebrating Africa event scheduled for Friday 21st October at the world-famous OVO Wembley Arena.
The organisers of Celebrating Africa Festival announced that the event boosting the most electric and lineup of African stars highlighting the rich culture and recent success of African music is currently not viable due to the UK’s cost of living, economic disruption and additional cost implications put on the grand spectacle and production.”
